Who this is

Nova Central Vacuums is the central vacuum division of Nova Vacuums. The business behind this site is Manassas Vacuums Inc., central vacuum enquiries are handled by the Warrenton store, and the homes we work in are in Northern Virginia, Maryland & Washington DC.

What you send us

The form on this site asks for your name, phone number and email address, and asks you to tick a box agreeing to be contacted about your request. We ask for those three because they are how we get back to you and arrange a time to come and look at your home.

Everything else on the form is optional and you can leave it blank: what you need, your ZIP code, and a box for anything you want to add. They are there because a request that arrives with them is a request we can answer properly the first time.

Along with what you type, the form sends a reference number created at that moment, the time it arrived, and whether it came from the live site or from a test of it.

Where your request goes

When you send the form it reaches our server, which checks it and hands it straight to the service that sends the mail. Two messages go out: one to you, confirming what you sent and carrying that reference number, and one to the store. That is the whole route. The site sends your request to that one place and nowhere else.

If that hand-off fails, the page tells you so and gives you the store's number, because at that point the request has not reached anybody.

What is kept

Nothing on this site holds your request. There is no database behind it, no file and no list. Once the mail is sent, your request reaches the business as an email in its mailbox, the same way a message would if you had written to us yourself.

So there is no period after which it disappears from here, because there is nothing here for it to disappear from. If you would like to know what became of something you sent, or would rather we did not hold on to it, call the store and ask.

Our server does write a short line to its own log for each request: the reference number, the time, and whether it went through. It records which field was wrong when something does not pass our checks, but never what you typed into it. Your IP address is not written to those logs either. The server holds it briefly in memory, and for one purpose only: so that a single connection cannot flood the form with requests. The logs themselves sit with the company that hosts this site and are kept for as long as that hosting plan keeps them, which is not something we set.

The bot check

The form is protected against automated abuse by Cloudflare Turnstile. It loads the first time you touch the form, so if you read a page and never start filling anything in, nothing from Cloudflare is loaded at all. It works by itself: there is no puzzle to solve and nothing to tick, and our server receives only its answer, pass or fail.

The form also carries one field that is kept out of your way and is always empty for a person. If a request arrives with it filled in, we treat the request as automated and refuse it.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies of its own, and it uses no other site's fonts or video players, so nothing is loaded from them either.

What it does use is measurement: Google Analytics, the Meta pixel, and Google Ads conversion tracking. They tell us how many people reach the site, which pages they read, and which advertisements brought them here. Those three set cookies of their own once they load, and they run on the live site only. Measurement is on unless you turn it off.

The one thing this site stores in your browser itself is a single entry recording whether you have asked it not to load those three. Turning them off is kept in the browser you do it in, applies to that browser only, and takes effect the next time a page loads: a tool that has already loaded on the page in front of you cannot be called back.
